AMC Industries (AMC) has a long and successful history. It began in 1924 when John Buchek, the grandfather of the present-day owners, started AMC. The original name of AMC was Alamo Farm Machinery Co.
In 1939, Harvey Buchek, the father of the present-day owners, began his career with AMC. Harvey would eventually pioneer the AMC sales division of water pumps for use in rural water systems. In 1955, he sold the tractor and implement business and shortened the company name to Alamo Machinery Co. In 1969, his son, John Buchek, started with AMC and by 1975 his other son, Bob Buchek, had also joined AMC. Together, John and Bob Buchek began the distribution of a relatively new technology known as automated landscape irrigation throughout South and Central Texas. Another generation had begun to make their mark within the company through the irrigation and domestic water systems industries.
AMC currently offers over 10,000 line items related to turf and golf irrigation and domestic water systems business through eleven branch locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma.
